backyard crowing ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- hits of the 60s it's bothering me right now that leila likes to ask me what i ate for lunch if i didn't eat with her. what the hell does she care? i'm on the verge of saying "i don't remember" or "okay, MOM" next time she asks. come on, i never ask HER what SHE eats for lunch. i couldn't care less what she feeds herself, but sometimes she tells me anyhow. that's today's rant, i suppose. dad took me to a record store in montrose today! he knows the owner (or employee? i have no idea) so we spent some time browsing. or rather, i spent some time browsing and he spoke with his buddy. i'm glad we went, it was a fun little outing that i enjoyed. the building was once a house, so it's a small operation, but very much my style. i bought two 45s, or singles: modest mouse's "float on" and an ep, or extended play with a bunch of 60s songs like "sugar, sugar", "louie, louie", and "monday, monday." oui, oui. the ep was made in france, and has some french on the front: "LES TUBES DES ANNEES 60 COMME VOUS NE LES AVEZ JAMAIS ENTENDUS!" for all of you non-french speakers, that means: "THE HITS OF THE SIXTIES LIKE YOU'VE NEVER HEARD THEM BEFORE!" and i'm tired of college. i feel i know all the rhetoric i need to know already, i can't wait to get on with it--to new classes, ones with people who are as much of francophiles as i am. and i didn't mention this discovery: 9:50 pm - Saturday, Mar. 18, 2006 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
