clarissa explained it all
i've been watching Clarissa Explains It All on YouTube, an ancient show on Nickelodeon. While i loved the show then, it has now become annoying and juvenile...but i can see now why i liked it so much.
why?
it features kids learning life lessons WITHOUT involvement from their parents. they're independent, and they make good decisions for themselves, because THEY believe in them. they know what's right for them, and right for their parents, and those rights don't always agree.
so...go Clarissa! she's crazy, and most of the stuff that comes out of her mouth is something that a junior high schooler would not say, but at the same time, she is an idiot. and a role model. to me. as a grade schooler. i practically worshipped that chick! my, how live has changed.
