When he read off this quote, he said, "My God, I feel like Tony Robbins or something," like it was an embarrassment.
He has a real problem with belief in others. Maybe no one believed in him. Maybe he's learned he cannot trust anyone, ever. Maybe, if he let people in, I would see that we're not so different.
Just because you're in pain doesn't mean you need to cause it for others.
