funktability? whoever invented that word should get an award. perhaps it was carl himself.
in other news, my mother (bless her) did not completely lose her head when i told her that i am emergency dropping my linguistics class. i am so thankful that our conversation went well, and that everything is going to work out.
who knows, i may be at a different school in january '07. i don't want to move, but it may be for the best, depending on a lot of factors...
besides, i love moving and seeing new areas. i'm not opposed to relocating; i don't really have anything tying me down to austin, other than the fact that i love it. in the words of every doubtful mother, "We'll see."

oh, i found my cousin megan on xanga! with the internet, our world is even smaller.
i'm going to pseudo-minor in music! that's because at UT's college of communications, you CAN'T minor. so, some people just take lots of classes as electives in a particular area, and then they can just say, 'i have the equivalent of a minor in BLAH." so i have decided i will have the equivalent of a minor in music. it was either music or french, so i've made a decision. i will not be changing my major or minor anymore. this is it, kid.
and if i don't make the grades to get into the comm school, i'm going to have to transfer. i don't know where yet, but mom is having me research good texas journalism schools this summer. she's not convinced ut is necessarily a good journalism school, since only 120 or so graduated from the school of journalism in may of 04. she seems to think that this figure implies that journalism may not be a really great major here. i have a feeling she is wrong (plus i just love this city), but i'll humor her and do the research. besides, maybe there is somewhere better than here. france is better than here, but she's not sending me there.
i'm so happy she's not furious with me for dropping linguistics, so SO happy. it's wonderful not to be yelled at.
